![]() bass guitar and back-up vocal. When you put the phrase together"a punchy solid groove" you have got the characteristics of Tom's bass style. He locks right in with Michael on the drums for a tight sound. Prior to the Blues Monsters Tom has credit performing with major session keyboardist Matt Rollins, now heard with Lyle Lovett,Larry Carlton and others. "I remember Matt telling me I had the good groove". Tom has also performed with renowned session drummer Mark Craney. Playing with a band called R&B Supply, Mark would sit in when he was not out touring with Jethro Tull or Gino Vannelli. Tom remembers doing a gig with Mark and another drummer and one guitar player, now there's a work-out for a bassist to hold a groove when the drummer's stretch out. Now he holds a solid grove with The Blues Monsters. The groove is the bottom line for a bassist, and Tom is right there. ![]() |
